We won’t hide it… At Acoustic Masters, we specialize in advanced acoustic measurements and vibration measurements, offering a wide range of services tailored to our clients’ needs. Our team uses only first-class, certified laboratory-grade measuring equipment that complies with all national, European, and international standards. We could go on and on… In short – our uncompromising approach in this area guarantees high quality and precision of results. This ensures that our studies can also be used for legal and formal purposes. Every test is backed by analysis and summarized in a report (either short or full). From each study, we create a list of conclusions and guidelines (arranged in the context of priorities and effectiveness), so that you can implement effective solutions immediately after the analysis. It’s impossible to list all the possible measurements, so below we present our service offer along with applicable standards and regulations, as well as real-life examples.

  • Sound level measurement
  • Noise from sanitary installations: measurement of noise generated by pipes, plumbing, and other sanitary installations in buildings.
  • Noise at workstations: measurement of noise at workplaces, especially in the industrial sector, factories, production halls, and open-space offices.
  • Noise from ventilation and air-conditioning systems: assessment of noise generated by ventilation and air-conditioning systems, especially in offices, shops, hotels, restaurants, and production halls.
  • Noise from heat pumps: measurement of noise generated by heat pumps in residential and commercial buildings.
  • Noise from machine rooms and server rooms: measurement of noise generated by noisy rooms in apartment buildings, offices, or public buildings.
  • Noise in public buildings: assessment of noise in shopping malls, museums, conference centers, cinemas, theaters, or train stations.

Each country has its own regulations for assessing sound level values. In Poland, assessments are most often carried out according to PN-B-02151-2 – a construction standard concerning noise in buildings. It’s important to note that different editions of this standard apply depending on the year of issue and the period it is in force – which is why experience is crucial to ensure the correct choice of regulations for the tests performed. We have often improved measurements from other companies that were carried out in accordance with best practices but based on incorrect regulations. With us, you can be sure of support in this area.

  • Acoustic insulation measurement
  • Measurement of wall and ceiling sound insulation: evaluation of airborne sound insulation (e.g., conversation through the wall, TV, barking dog) and impact sound insulation (e.g., footsteps from the floor above, moving furniture, walking upstairs) through walls and ceilings, especially in multi-family buildings, single-family homes with multiple units, offices, rooms for confidential conversations, schools, medical facilities, doctor’s offices, and law offices.
  • Acoustic insulation of facades: measurement of the effectiveness of sound insulation of multi-family, office, and hotel buildings, especially in relation to outdoor noise (e.g., noisy roads, railways, airports).
  • Acoustic insulation in industry: measurement of acoustic insulation in production halls, warehouses, noise-reducing boxes, booths, workshops, and factories, to protect workers from harmful noise.

Each country has its own regulations for assessing acoustic insulation values. In Poland, assessments are most often carried out according to PN-B-02151-3 – a construction standard concerning acoustic insulation in buildings. Just like with sound level assessments, different editions of this standard apply depending on the year of issue and the period it is in force. Proper selection of regulations is key, e.g., when assessing noise from a neighbor and the related formalities.

Building Certification – BREEAM, LEED, WELL

More and more office, commercial, and residential buildings undergo sustainable building certification. Proper acoustics is a key factor influencing user comfort and achieving high rankings in certification systems:

  • BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) – in the Hea 05 Acoustic Performance category, our measurements help meet the noise requirements for office, educational, and residential buildings.
  • LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) – compliance with acoustic requirements in LEED v4 and v4.1, especially for office and educational buildings.
  • WELL (WELL Building Standard) – compliance with comfort requirements (WELL Comfort, Feature 75 Sound Reducing Surfaces, Feature 78 Reverberation Time).

Warsaw Green Building Standard

We also conduct measurements confirming compliance with the acoustic requirements outlined in the Warsaw Green Building Standard, including those confirming the increased insulation requirements for buildings (PN-B-02151-5).

FAQ

What acoustic measurements do you offer?

We offer comprehensive acoustic measurements, including:

  • Acoustic insulation of partitions (walls, ceilings, windows)
  • Noise levels in rooms and outdoors
  • Reverberation time and sound absorption coefficients
  • Acoustic vibrations

How long does an acoustic measurement take? How long will I wait for the result?

The duration of measurements depends on the scope of the service and the size of the building. Reverberation time measurements for one room take up to 15 minutes, and acoustic insulation measurements for one partition take up to 30 minutes. These times refer to the measurement procedure itself and do not include the setup and packing of measurement equipment.

  • Measurement wait time: from a few hours (really – call and see 😊) up to 3 days
  • Measurement result wait time: immediately after the measurement
  • Shortened report wait time: up to 3 days
  • Full report wait time: up to 10 days

When should I conduct an acoustic measurement?

Acoustic measurements should be carried out at every stage of the investment:

  • Before construction – to define acoustic requirements for the project
  • After construction – to verify if the project meets acoustic standards
  • During operation – to monitor acoustic quality in the building

What equipment is used for acoustic measurements?

We use state-of-the-art, first-class, certified measurement equipment:

  • Acoustic analyzers and meters: e.g., NTi Audio XL3
  • Measurement microphones: e.g., NTi M2230
  • Standard sound sources: e.g., NTEK Omni 5 with an amplifier and NTEK mini Ion+ generator
  • Standard tapper: e.g., NTEK TPM pro
  • Vibrational measurement systems: e.g., SV803

What standards are followed during measurements?

Our measurements comply with applicable standards and regulations, such as:

  • PN-B-02151-2 for noise levels in buildings
  • PN-B-02151-3 for acoustic insulation of walls and ceilings
  • PN-B-02151-4 for reverberation time and speech intelligibility in rooms
  • And more!

What are the costs of measurements?

The cost of measurements depends on the number of rooms and the scope of the study. For example, noise level and reverberation time measurements in a room cost from PLN 1,900. Acoustic insulation measurements of a wall/ceiling cost from PLN 2,500. Additional costs may include computational analyses or the preparation of a full measurement report. After agreeing on the details, we will prepare a detailed offer.

What documents will I receive after the measurements?

Each acoustic measurement is summarized in a report. Depending on your needs, you can choose a shortened, one-page report (included in the price of the measurement) containing the most important data, methodology, results, and compliance check with regulations, or a full report, which includes:

  • A list of all documents and regulations that formed the basis of the report
  • A theoretical introduction and the purpose of the report
  • The legal status – determination of applicable regulations and requirements
  • A detailed description of the measurement methodology with maps
  • Results presented graphically/tably
  • Compliance check with regulations
  • Summary and guidelines for improvement (if necessary)

Regardless of the report type, we will provide guidelines for limiting/solving the problem. Every report is authorized with the signature and stamp of a certified acoustics engineer, a member of the Polish Acoustical Society.

Should I choose a shortened or full report?

If you need information for yourself or want to solve a problem – choose the shortened report. If you need a formal or legal report – choose the full report.

Do you conduct measurements in commercial and residential buildings?

Yes, we carry out measurements in both commercial buildings (offices, recording studios, conference rooms) and residential buildings (apartments, hotels, single-family homes).
