Scope of work
Pre-installation acoustic measurements, analysis and simulation of various ceiling insulation options, selection of the optimal solution, supervision of implementation, and post-installation measurements verifying compliance with acoustic requirements.
Introduction
H4OS is a space dedicated to gaming and entertainment, where acoustics play a key role in ensuring user comfort. The main challenge of the project was to effectively isolate the venue from the apartments above, while meeting both building and acoustic standards. A crucial aspect was selecting the appropriate ceiling insulation solution to reduce both airborne and impact noise.
Project Scope and Timeline
- Pre-installation Measurements
At the start of the project, we conducted detailed measurements of the existing ceiling’s acoustic insulation. The results allowed us to determine the level of sound attenuation and identify necessary actions to improve acoustic isolation.
- Acoustic Analysis and Simulations
Based on the measurement data, we performed simulations and acoustic analyses of various ceiling insulation configurations. We evaluated the effectiveness of each solution—especially for low frequencies—in terms of their ability to reduce noise transmission through the building’s structure.

Acoustic Insulation Simulations – Before/After Comparison
- Design and Selection of the Optimal Solution
Following the analysis (considering thickness, efficiency, and cost), we selected an insulation system based on anti-vibration hangers, which effectively eliminate vibration transmission. The carefully chosen insulation layers enhanced both airborne and structure-borne sound attenuation.
- Implementation and Supervision
The ceiling installation process was carried out under strict supervision, with a focus on precision and eliminating acoustic bridges. The structure was decoupled from the building elements, maximizing insulation efficiency.

Ceiling During Insulation Work
- Post-installation Measurements and Summary
After the work was completed, we conducted final acoustic tests, confirming full compliance with legal requirements. We achieved an insulation result of 67 dB (R’A1) – which exceeds the most stringent requirements set by Polish regulations (PN-B-02151-3). Thanks to the proper selection of technology and precise execution, the expected acoustic parameters were achieved, ensuring the legally required acoustic comfort for both venue users and building residents.
