Scope of work: acoustic analysis, acoustic insulation simulations, acoustic measurements, supervision of final laboratory tests.
Introduction
The goal of the project was to improve the acoustic performance of the TalkSpot acoustic booths, focusing on enhancing sound insulation while maintaining optimal conditions for mass, ventilation efficiency, and material costs.
Initial analysis and acoustic simulations
The work began with an acoustic analysis of the existing prototype, which did not meet satisfactory acoustic standards. We conducted a thorough evaluation of the booth’s acoustic parameters and carried out a series of acoustic simulations. Key areas for improvement were identified, and we optimized the cross-sections of the walls, floor, and ceiling, selecting the best variant to ensure optimal soundproofing with minimal weight. In the next step, we designed a new ventilation system that was quiet, efficient, and did not negatively impact acoustic insulation. Additionally, we selected the appropriate glazing parameters, which were critical for ensuring acoustic comfort inside the booth.
Series of acoustic measurements
After implementing the necessary modifications, we carried out a series of acoustic measurements at different stages of the prototype’s development. Preliminary measurements allowed us to assess the initial acoustic performance of the booth, while control and verification measurements were taken after each modification to check the effectiveness of the changes. These measurements enabled us to gradually improve the soundproofing performance of the booth. At each stage, we also verified the ventilation efficiency and optimized the mass/efficiency ratio.

Final prototype and laboratory testing
After finalizing the optimizations and modifications, the completed TalkSpot prototype underwent acoustic laboratory testing. According to the ISO 23351-1 standard, the soundproofing indicator (DSA) achieved a result of 32.9, which corresponds to Class A – one of the best results on the market. We were only 0.1 dB away from achieving Class A+, highlighting the exceptional quality of the final result!

Summary
Through precise analyses and acoustic measurements, we significantly improved the soundproofing performance of the TalkSpot booth, achieving a DSA result of 32.9 (Class A). TalkSpot is now one of the quietest acoustic booths on the market, offering excellent acoustic comfort and privacy for users.
